Polva Open’ 2010 – 4th (final) round of BST‘2010

The final tournament of BST’2010 was played during first weekend of September in beautiful disc golf park near Polva in Estonia – Maeotsa.  Saturday was rainy, but sunny Sunday came to make wonderful finish of Baltic Sea Tour in 2010.

Ville Piippo came to play 3rd BST tournament and comfortably won name of Baltic Sea Tour Champion. Winner of 2009 Tour Iosif Yusim from Russia had to fight for 2nd place in overall standing and managed to win over Finnish Olli Lipponen, who finished 3rd in the tournament and overall Tour. Two other Finns Velli Berglund and Hannu Kurvinen played in the final. Hannu knocked out the best Estonian player Einar Elbing from the final just in the 3rd round.

Champion of Amateur division was decided already before the last tournament – junior from Lithuania Gabrielius Gricius had won all 3 previous tournaments. It was a fight for second overall position in the Tour between younger Gabrielius’ brother Pranciskus and Estonian grand master Einar Sauk (the owner of Maeotsa disc golf park). Einar’s experience and home land helped him to keep the second position in the tournament and in overall Tour standing.

Baltic Sea Tour’2010 has finished

Baltic Sea Tour saw big growth during 2010 – with total 52 players participating in at least 1 tournament (15 of them played 3 or even all 4 tournaments!).

We believe that Baltic Sea Tour will continue to grow with more players and maybe even more tournaments already next year.

Thanks to everyone who played and contributed to organization of the Tour.
